Setup in five steps
- Install the app on an Android phoneOne phone is enough to start; add more later and they share the load. iOS cannot be a gateway: Apple does not let third-party apps send or read SMS.
- Scan the pairing code from your dashboardOpen the phones page in the dashboard, add a phone, and scan the code it shows. The phone joins your organization over its own connection.
- Set Kisoasms as the default SMS appAndroid only delivers incoming messages to the default SMS app. Without this step your phones can send but cannot receive or detect mobile-money SMS.
- Exempt it from battery savingA phone put to sleep cannot claim messages. Turn battery saver off for Kisoasms so it stays reachable through the day.
- Create an API key and sendFrom the dashboard, create a key with the scope you need and POST your first message. The phone sends it from its own SIM.
Xiaomi and MIUI phones
Xiaomi's battery management is stricter than stock Android's. After installing, open Settings, find Kisoasms, and set battery saver to “No restrictions”, turn Autostart on, then lock Kisoasms in the recent-apps view so a swipe cannot close it. Without all three, a Xiaomi phone quietly stops claiming messages after a few hours.
